Abstract: This paper addresses the issue of what skills are necessary to be successful as an Information System Analyst. An empirical study was performed to investigate the skill set requirements for the systems analysis position in the current job market and compare those requirements with those reported in a previously published paper. It is important to address these issues to be better able to advise students in an information systems program and to better package the curriculum content. This study found evidence of changing roles and responsibilities and requisite skills compared to those previously reported.
