Abstract: Business analytics is believed to be a huge boon for organizations, yielding timely insights over the competition, improving business processes, and generating growth and innovation opportunities. As organizations are embarking on business analytics initiatives, many strategic questions emerge regarding how to drive the most value as they operationalize business analytics. Recent Information Systems (IS) literature have focused on bringing an understanding of the role and need of business analytics however, very little attention have been paid to the capture the theoretical and practical success factors to the operationalization of analytics. The primary objective of this study is to fill the gap in the literature by empirically examining business analytics success and its impact on business. Through a qualitative study, we will gain more and deeper insights into the success factors, and consequences of business analytics. We intend to inform and help shape possible theoretical and practical implementations of business analytics.
