Adding Value: Online Student Engagement

Abstract: This paper seeks to add to the literature related to student engagement in the online learning environment with the added suggestions for instructional strategies. Student engagement is one of the tenets of effective online instruction; as such, particular attention to how it adds value to student learning is crucial and worth the time and effort to enhance learning outcomes. What strategies and technology enhance student engagement and add value to student learning? Continuing research into online student engagement strategies is needed to add value to student learning.
