Abstract: The Internet’s effect on society is growing exponentially. One only has to look at the growth of e-commerce, social media, wireless data access, and mobile devices to see how communication is changing. The need and desire for the Internet, especially in such disciplines as Computer Science or Computer Information Systems, pose a unique risk for dependencies to arise. These dependencies are identified under the broad terms of Internet Addiction and/or Internet Abuse.

Keywords: Internet Abuse, Internet Addiction, online education, risk factors
