Abstract: This paper uses the lens of Gibson's concept of affordances to explore how weblogs might encourage student-centered learning. It discusses the authors' personal experiences using weblogs in the context of an MBA-level course as course weblogs and as a case discussion weblog. Practical matters in improving the use of weblogs in the classroom, and how the affordances of weblogs are constrained by the institutions of teacher-centered learning are discussed.
